Blog: Live Art Commission Opportunity – The Banquet

Project Dandelion is a public art project, introduced in 2011 that enables new art commissions and projects to take place across the BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme in Wolverhampton.  We are a team of arts professionals who are working across 23 Wolverhampton secondary schools over three years.

The art commissions and projects we are delivering are a result of school engagement, new architecture and new opportunities for transformation and learning.  Our work is ambitious, inspirational and innovative and promotes high quality art and artists working in schools with young people.  The professionals we work with include artists, photographers, performers, digital artists, educators and architects.

Our partners are Inspire, the Wolverhampton Local Education Partnership (LEP), Wolverhampton City Council and Carillion.
Banquet is an exciting opportunity for a live artist to work at Highfields Science Specialist School, Wolverhampton to develop and present a performance based on the theme of ‘banquet’.  The commission is aimed at artists who:

  • work in live art and experimental performance;
  • have an interest in exploring the relationship between food and art;
  • can present work in a school setting for an audience made up of students, teachers, parents and the wider school community;
  • have knowledge, skills and experience of creating costume for performance.

Deadline for submissions is 21st November.
